These treatments involve depositing a natural purified protein just under the skin. Anti-wrinkle injections work by weakening the muscles responsible for causing wrinkles. By targeting specific facial muscle groups, dynamic wrinkles can be prevented without affecting routine facial expressions.
Treatments may also help delay the onset and progression of age-related facial wrinkles. If you would like to schedule an appointment to receive anti-wrinkle injections at The Plastic Surgery Clinic & Medispa, serving Sydney’s Upper and Lower North Shore, and Norwest regions, please contact our practice today.
About Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections can be effectively used to:
- Treat ‘crows feet’ (wrinkles around the eye)
- Treat forehead lines
- Treat frown lines (lines between the brows that are responsible for the ‘angry’ look)
Injectable anti-wrinkle treatments can also be used to:
- Serve as a non-surgical alternative to a brow lift
- Raise the corners of your mouth (opposing the effects of ageing)
The treatments cause very little discomfort during placement, and:
- They can be combined with dermal fillers
- You can return to work immediately
The effects of anti-wrinkle injections are generally seen within 2 to 7 days with maximal effects seen after 14 days. The effects of treatments last approximately three to four months. In individuals who have received several prior treatments, longer lasting results can occur. When deep facial wrinkles are present, then a combination approach with dermal fillers may also be required.
